During a 2-days visit in Esbjerg, the German ambassador had requested an introduction to how companies in Denmark are working with green transition. Germany is about to embark on an ambitious journey towards energy sustainability, and for the local energy companies in Esbjerg, the potential market for exporting green technologies to our southern neighbor is immense.
Germany calls for green energy solutions
During the meeting it was acknowledged by the Mr. Hector that development of green energy, and specifically offshore wind, is crucial to succeed with the green transition in due time. Project Director of HØST PtX Esbjerg, David Dupont-Mouritzen, sees many possibilities for a cooperation between Denmark and Germany centered around Power-to-X:
’The ambassador expressed extensive interest in working closely together to establish a pipeline which can transport hydrogen from Denmark to the northern parts of Germany. Further, he expressed understanding of the challenges related to the EU directive REDII, which in our opinion does not fully support the PtX industry and should be adjusted.’
